PRF GEL INJECTIONS
Natural Filler Made from Your PRF Growth Factors
ABOUT PRF GEL INJECTIONS
Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is a concentrate of platelets and fibrin that is prepared from a small sample of your blood. Platelets are blood cells that play a crucial role in healing by releasing growth factors and other proteins that aid in tissue repair. Fibrin is a protein that helps form blood clots and supports the formation of new tissue. PRF can be delivered in a liquid or gel form. The gel form is made by heating a portion of the PRF which creates an albumin gel. The gel portion is then mixed with the liquid portion. This forms a filler consistency which can be injected to restore volume in the face. It is less risky than using a hyaluronic acid filler since it is made from your own blood which prevents any potential allergic reaction.
WHAT IT IS
PRF gel can be used in skin rejuvenation treatments to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity. The growth factors in the gel stimulate collagen production, leading to a more youthful and radiant appearance. When applied to areas with fine lines and wrinkles, PRF gel helps to promote the formation of new skin cells and the repair of damaged tissue, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Although not a filler in the traditional sense, PRF gel can contribute to natural volume enhancement by stimulating collagen and elastin production, which can help to subtly improve volume in areas like the cheeks or under the eyes.
HOW IT WORKS
Before Treatment: Your provider will discuss your goals and medical history to ensure that PRF gel is suitable for you. A small blood sample will be drawn to prepare the gel.
During Treatment: The PRF gel will be injected into the targeted areas. The procedure is generally well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort.
After Treatment: You may experience some redness, swelling, or minor discomfort at the treatment site. These effects are usually temporary and subside within a few days.
Recovery: Most people can resume normal activities shortly after treatment. Your provider will offer specific aftercare instructions to maximize the benefits and minimize any potential side effects.
